My cross country weekend

The weekend of June 20-21 I went to Flagstaff to do a cross country training thing. We left Friday June 19 so we wouldn't be so rushed on Saturday. That night we froze to death! On Saturday my instructor Jamie rode at 7:00 so my mom, my dad, Abby and I decided to watch her. She jumped really high! Every one rode for 2 hours. At 1:30 I rode. I was upset on Saturday because I was jumping tiny jumps! My mom said they were not tiny. Me: Yea Right!`I mean really Abby and Rachel (They were the other girls I rode with) were jumping high! I wanted to jump what they were jumping. And Rachel was jumping the highest on a pony only a little taller than my horse Hogan! I was even more upset when we went to the water and I only got to walk/trot through the water. The next day I was going to ride at 11:00 but there was going to be traffic by the time we could go home so I ended up riding at 9:00 if I remember right. When I rode on Sunday I was happier because Jamie told me to jump more jumps! Sadly they weren't to much higher, but I did get to jump a jump that looked like a hot dog! Ok so a few of them were quite bigger but not a whole lot. Happily I got to jump the smallest jump out of the water, it was a higher jump out of the water than the jump really was, because it was the water than it went up to land and the jump was on land. I also got to jump a ditch, and a jump down hill and 2 jumps up hill! Sadly my 2 hours were up I walked back to Hogans coral and took his saddle and things off. When my mom came she braded his mane back up, cause his mane goes to his knees! When she was done we tried to put him in the trailer but he wouldn't go in so Jamie got him in eventually! Then we drove home when he was in the trailer. I wanted to start Sundays cross country training again, it was so fun! Sadly I have to wait 'till next year, but it will come, EVENTUALLY!

  1. Sounds like you had a great weekend Little Piggy! Don't worry, those higher jumps will come as you get more experience. I'm so glad you and Hogan are doing this. He seems to do anything and everything that you ask him to. You two make a great team!!

  2. Miss Kailie...
You and Hogan did a great job...and next year when you are a little bigger and he is a little more experienced, you'll be able to just a little higher. It sounds like Hogan had a lot of fun too...that's probably why he didn't want to get in the trailer! Next year when you do this, I'm planning to come up and watch you. I'm sure glad you didn't really freeze...then you would be my "Frozen Kailie". Just keep on practicing, and one day you'll be jumping those big jumps like you want to jump! I have no doubt!! I'm really proud of you...Love you lots and lots!

  4. You are too funny and way too brave! None of them were tiny jumps, especially considering it's your first time! Less than a year ago you would have thought hose jumps were huge!
